I find a bath relaxing, I bought my hubby some of the radox (only cos it was on offer) and it does the trick. You are so relaxed after, takes all your energy to get dried and into bed.
Also, is your room clutter free? That can upset your karma.
I also like freshly laundered sheets, preferably dried outside.

Intersting that you say that as I have not had a bath in ages. The last time I have had one was a month ago. Maybe it's a bath I need.

Well there are a lot of factors that come into the equation of being able to sleep. They are:
* If my GF is sleeping with. I have to sleep when it's freezing cold. She is the opposite - she has to be very hot.
* Watching a comedy dvd works. However recently I haven't been able to get to sleep watching them.

Me too, that's why I am blogging!
Things I try:
Lavender oil
hot chocolate, (mostly milk!)
Walk round the block before bed time with my guy - chatting about nice things
Watching repeats of the West Wing I know already - so interested but not fully engrossed, and happy to switch off when feel tired
